I was so happy to finally unbox and test my new Cetma Composites Taras bifins.
On my deepest dives I gained 25 seconds in speed, and this gave me so much confidence that I improved my Personal Best by several meters and I managed to get the first place at the French Championships this year with a dive to -78m CWTB… and I’m still going!
I’m now in Roatan preparing for the World Championships and I will see how deep these gems will take me.
The best thing about the Taras is the speed. To fully benefit from their speed, you need to keep the ankle locked and really start the movement of the legs from the hips and keeping the legs as straight as possible.
Engaging the hips will make you rock a little right to left, but that is normal.
The footpocket is best worn with a half sock - this will make sure that you really minimize any leftover space - yes they need to be tight! - and also it will protect your toes from painful bruises.
I can’t wait to see how much deeper I can go with these, for now I have enjoyed a beautiful -80m CWTB dive with these.
