Whilst training at Y-40, I have been playing around with the gear from FreeXperience, specifically their different lanyards and nose clips.
I have already written my praises of what are the best lanyards in the world, but the FreeXperience nose clips are also some incredible pieces of jewellery for the nose, and I almost want to wear one on a wild night out.
Those who’ve been diving with me at Lake Garda during my World Record dives will know that cold doesn’t bother me and I much preferred to do my dives without goggles.
I assumed it would have been okay for me to dive without goggles and usual nose clip in Y-40, but I was very wrong, and after the first session where my eyes resembled those of Uncle Fester in the Addams Family, I decided to finally cover my eyes. I tried the flooded goggles, but they really don’t work for me, so I opted for diving with the mask.
As I am hands free, I prefer to stay that way, however my tubes won’t allow me to do a whole session of 10+ dives to -42m in hands free, especially as I am still recovering from an acute sinusitis I had back in January.

I have loved to use the FreeXperience mini nose clip, which is like having "Tiny little fingers under your mask".
The FreeXperience mini is a small nose clip that is 3D-printed from 316L stainless steel to fit inside the mask, it allows me to have enough pressure to do hands free equalisation whilst still letting some air through the nose to equalise the mask.
Some key features here make this nose clip something special.
Tailored to fit:
The FreeXperience mini nose clip is made in 316L stainless steel that can be bent and tailored to fit your nose.
It also comes in two sizes and a sleek design.
It’s tiny but there’s no risk to lose it:
The FreeXperience mini nose clip ships with a thin connection cord which you can attach to your mask and a tiny case (can be used in water)
Versatile:
The FreeXperience mini nose clip works for freedivers, synchronised swimmers, mermaids, underwater scooter drivers, scuba divers, and spearfishers. It’s great for swimming, kayaking, underwater photography, swimming with fins, both in open water and in pools.
FreeXperience premium titanium nose clip
The Freexperience premium titanium nose clip is quite literally another jewel for the nose as it’s made with 3D printing technologies from durable and non corrodible titanium.
These are some key features of the the Freexperience premium titanium nose clip:
Smart design
The design is super sleek and smart - the honeycomb like surface makes it grip by design and not by material. This way you don’t have to constantly replace pieces of rubber or plastic, making it a very durable piece.
Size matters
The Freexperience premium titanium nose clip is super small which is a plus for me. So many times when freefalling with bigger nose clips by other brands, my nose clip hit the rope making me lose concentration.
I opted for the oval model, which suits the shape of my nose better, but it also comes in three round sizes, S, M and L.
I won’t have to worry about this issue as it sits within the outer shape of my nose.
No drag
Furthermore, its yellow string is super light, thus minimising the drag whilst diving.
Travel Pouch
Lastly, the Freexperience premium titanium nose clip also comes in a very handy pouch which can be brought in the water with a small carabiner.
